Mr. Cole Ottmar holds the position of Associate Wealth & Investment Officer at Altruist Trust Co. & Fiduciary Services, Inc. (Altruist™), where he plays a role in the firm’s fiduciary wealth management and investment services. Working directly under the Chief Investment Officer, he assists in developing client-centric investment strategies tailored to each beneficiary’s and client’s objectives and requirements. Furthermore, Mr. Ottmar is expanding his expertise through cross-training as an Assistant Trust Officer under the guidance of the Chief Fiduciary Officer, thereby deepening his understanding of trust administration and reinforcing Altruist’s dedication to comprehensive, compassionate, and holistic client service.

Cole’s approach to financial stewardship is distinguished by integrity, empathy, and a growth mindset. A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics, Mr. Ottmar has gained practical experience in wealth and investment management through a job-shadowing program at UBS Financial – Seattle. During his tenure with UBS’s Special Needs Trust team, he contributed to the formulation of portfolio strategies. He participated in client communications regarding beneficiaries with special needs, as well as individual wealth management clients. This practical experience provided Cole with early exposure to the meticulous customization of financial strategies—skills he now applies to serve Altruist’s diverse and extensive client base.

Beyond his academic and financial pursuits, Mr. Ottmar’s discipline and perseverance were cultivated through his participation as an NCAA Division I athlete and a member of the national champion volleyball team at the University of Hawaii. He attributes his athletic experience to developing a robust work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and resilience—attributes that he applies in his professional endeavors to support clients and colleagues. These qualities, combined with his financial expertise, allow him to address client challenges with both precision and determination.
